I have a 75 f-100 4x4 that i would like to level out. seams to be sagging in the frontend. I heard that you can get a set of Moog cargo coils that will raise it 2.5" from car quest? Has eney one put a set of these on before?
Thanks for Reply; I contacted superlift and moog. Moog cargo coils were a lot cheaper 89.00 so I orderd a set from carquest shoud have them on in a few days. I will let everyone now how it came out.
Take a good look at the front radius arm bushings, track arm bushings, c-bushings for wear or crackes. A kit can be bought from Energy Systems to replace all the bushing described. Use the 2 degree replacement c-bushing .
Spray down all bolts, nuts, with rust remover and lubricant. "Rust Penetrator, Aero Oil" down a day or two before starting your project.
If deciding to paint and detail the front suspension, this would be a good time to do it.
Take truck to car wash and wash the front end at all angles really good. Use a scraper, screwdrive, wire brush, blades, sand paper (180, 220 grit), brake kleener, and towel to clean and prep the area. Use some sort of Rust inhibitor to paint axle parts. "Rustoleum or Por15, in flat black works good".
If your truck is raised 2.5 inches on the front using the MOOG kit, the rear will need to be raised. You can Add - A - Leaf on the rear springs. this should level out the truck. The Superlift kit K500 raises the truck 1.5 inches and the truck will sit level with that kit.
I installed the Superlift kit K500, the truck sat level, but when I would haul stuff on the bed, the truck would sit back a little. I installed a Add -A -Leaf on the rear and now the truck sit a higher on the rear.
