Am stationed in Iraq and was watching an episode of trucks and they were replacing the stock impeller on a turbo with one that would give the stock turbo more boost. I own a 2004 F-250 and have a power pup and monitor, 4" turbo back exhaust, and have upgrade the air filter system. Does anyone know who makes this turbo upgrade kit and will the stock intercooler handle the increase in air flow.
And with horror stories of modified and even stock 6.0's with cracked heads, cracked pistons, and stretched head studs, Adding boost beyond 30psi might not be such a good idea unless you're going to upgrade other components.
There's been a couple here on FTE. Possibly more. A few on the Dieselsite.. Not to say that it hasn't happened with Cummins and DuraIzusu, but Blown head gaskets on a diesel isn't really the norm for a new truck. Some with hard miles/hours on them maybe. I don't keep track of them, but I've read here over the last year or so, about blown head gaskets leading to other damage on relatively new 6.0's. There's also the CAC tube issues. Unless your doing research for a vendor/Ford/yourself for education/the science of how it all works, Racing for enjoyment or money, then why push things to the design limits for a daily driver?
To each his own, If you've got the money to play around, go for it. Personally, I don't have the money to go buy a new truck/engine if I were to blow this one up just because I wanted another 100flb of torque. Just changing the exhaust wakes these things up quite nicely. That's enough for me.
Yes its not a good idea unless you build it up a little more so it can handle all that boost. my friend hooked up a BC to my truck and i peaked at 32psi one day with a superchip and no exhaust (just the downpipe),

Will leave it alone, sounds way out of my league and could become an economic disaster. Already hearing it for what I have spent on this truck. Thank-you all
