All it needs is an engine, transmission and front axle. Oh, yeah, some paint, $200 in sandpaper,an industrial barrel of bondo, four new tires, brakes....... $15000 later and you have a truck worth $6000

Hey bob, I thought you liked to haul stuff like that back home? (and then sell off the parts to guys like me)
Yeah, I do but NE is a little too far to go. My wife already thinks I'm nuts for driving 700 miles to pick up the '48 Ford last summer and going back 10 miles north to pick up the Dodge 19.5" wheels last month. She'd have me committed if I drove all the way to NE for that truck

I understand what you mean, I still have people who think I'm crazy driving around the big puddle (Lake Michigan) to get parts from you... they just don't seem to understand you need to travel to find parts in the rust belt.
And Bob, I just realized that red 49 has the same grill guard I just picked up from you.

Its amazing to me how these things get listed on ebay.
I've been trying to stay off of ebay lately because I always seem to find a good deal and right now I'm broke.
Did you guys see the COE that was mounted on a newer 4x4 frame that was on ebay a week or so ago? I posted it here somewhere, it was kind of cool
Gives me grins to see how many of us use the same nick name both here and on Ebay. I've stayed away from an item a few times knowing that one of you guys had bid on it, and once checked with another member before bidding knowing that we'd run up the price for each other if we both went after it. Stu
Its a whole lot easier to try and remember only one user name and one password. I haven't bought ol Ford parts in awhile but from now on I will always check on who I'm bidding against also. I'd hate to be betting against a fellow enthusiast and create a huge price for an item.
Bobby - Ditto. This week I emailed Chuck4850 (Chuck's Trucks) 'cause there's two wrecks listed in a yard near him. I thought from the looks of one that it might be a Marmon-Herrington. Turns out it's not, but luckily it gave him a starting point to track down two other yards that he'd been wanting to find in that town. Timing was good, and sometimes you get lucky. Stu
