fresh engine, start up procedures

getting ready to drop in my new 300, what start up procedures should I follow. The shop I bought it from said as soon as I start it to bring to a fast idle of about 2000 rpm to break the cam in, is this right?

Yes - run the engine at 2000 rpm for about 15 minutes - then change the oil & filter. Then keep your speed below 50MPH for the first 500 miles - the cam should be set, as well as, your bearings and rings.

Happy Fording!
