Confused about TPMS
2015 F350. I have summer tires and rims from an identical 2015 f350 brand new. I went to switch the tire and rims to summer and was told to perform the learning procedure. Followed the directions but could never get past the first tire, seems the system would time out as I deflated the tire.
My question is do I even need to do the procedure at all. Also have I messed anything up by trying to perform the procedure? No dash light pre or post doing the work.

I don't think so. I put new winter tires on my 2011 F350 last year and the truck "learned" it on its own; I didn't do anything except drive. Can't recall if the tpms message went off at all; if it did, it stopped after a few times.

They had to be programmed otherwise you would get tire pressure sensor faults on the display. If you bought the rims at a tire shop they should be able to program them. You could also buy the programming tool for about $40 & do it yourself.
