This is getting old already. I'm glad I like tinkering on vehicles when needed though.
Anyway, I have a 1986 Bronco, 302, AOD and it has a fuel leak along the frame. Let me describe where it's at because I don't know the name of the part and what it does.
Fuel lines go from tank along frame through some black device, through some more fuel line to the inline fuel pump to the fuel filter, etc...
The leak is occuring at the black device prior to the pump. What is that thing or am I seeing things when I look at it.
The leak is slow when system is pressurized with key on and then it leaks really good when motor is running.
Thanks for all of the help so far. Haynes manuel not much help.
That is a fuel resevoir, it keeps fuel to the high pressure pump in rough terrain, since the gas in the tank can slosh and allow the low pressure pump to suck air.
Ahhhh!!! I read about that yesterday before school. So that's what it looks like. Haynes talks about it, but doesn't show it or tell ya where it is. Thanks!
Does anyone know where I can get OEM or aftermarket fuel lines and a fuel resevoir for an 86 Bronco, 302 EFI? I went to the Ford dealer today and he said they quit making my lines in 1996. He seemed pretty knowledgable and had two Broncos of his own. He worked with me for 1/2 hour trying to find some fuel lines and a resevoir for me.
If it's possible to build fuel lines, then I'll do that. I'd not ask for so much help, but I'm short on time as this is my week on at the hospital and school is killing me right now. All suggestions would be helpful.
