If it's any consolation SLE, my red lens in my '00 is busted off and the light doesn't work anymore. I've given up on it so now it's just another one of those items that belongs in the odd trash hook category, a la the "WTH category"... ha ha.

 

Hope you didnt take my post the wrong way. I'm not trying to talk you into trading or anything if you had had the center seat, I'm just trying to find out if they even made a black leather center seat.

Hey I check it out last night, now I'm really pissed, the dang thing has holes where the light is suppose to go but no lights, come on ford don't be so cheap!!! I'm gonna call the stealer today and see how much the actual factory lights and sockets cost, It cann't be all that much, maybe a few bucks for each, if not I'll be making a swing by the local parts store this week to see what they have. The rear doors have the lens but not lights or holes for the lights either so that may take a little more work but it cann't be all that complicated.

 

Alright I called the local stealer and they want 16.41 per socket and 2.00 for the bulb!!!! It'll cost me dang near $80 for the parts, kinda of a rip off I think. I'll be swinging by the parts store to see what they have, I figured I should be able to all 4 doors for less than $30 and even thats probably a little high!! maybe I swing by the local junk yard and see what they have.

 

SLE - Do you happen to have the part #'s for the socket and bulb? I'd be interested in getting them, my Ford parts guy is lame! I have a 2005 f350 Crew Cab and I'm interested in doing this mod too. I already checked the bone yard, but that wasn't helpful either. I'm still looking for the glove box socket!!

 

The glove box socket goes by either of two numbers. The American made part that is on my 2003 is 1F12-15A563AA. It has been superceded by an "offshored" part number 2F1X-15A563AA. It is a combination bulb socket/glovebox door switch that presses into an opening in the IP substrate. The parts that are used on the IP line as the instrument panels are built already have a bulb in them, a #194. Both parts plug into the same connector from the wire harness.

Alright I found one superduty to steal them from at one of the junk yards but I still need two more for the rear doors. the junk yard only wants $5 apiece, now thats mmore my price.

I'd like to put some lights in my doors also,may call around and see if I can finds a donor SD...what yr should I go after to get the lights?

 

Form what I've noticed the 99s through 02s all have them and a few early 03s got em. after that nothing. I found a 99' at the wrecking yard but I need one more so I can do the rear doors. Its tough finding a donor SD. A buddy of mine was saying that Ins. Companies need like 200% damage on one to totla it because of the high retail price and the demand where as other vehicles total out oftenly at 80%. I don't know that the numbers are true or even the theory but I cann't find to many wreck ones and it's not because noe have been wrecked!! I personally think that they are high demand and most wreck ones are sold with damaged titles to private owners for donor and fix up vehicles. I can imagine, unless everything is just trashed, a SD would bring pretty good money even in the salvage pool.

 

They deleted the door lights and began calling them reflectors effective 12/2/02. A complete list of these changes - referred to as "Key Order Guide Changes" effective 12/2/02 is as follows:

- Change from Lariat Floormat w/ logo to Lariat Floormat w/o logo - 7/15/02
- 2nd row storage net on Supercab no longer available - 7/15/02
- 5.4L Badge no longer avilable - 7/15/02
- Change from 78-AH CCA Battery w/ gas engine to 72-AH CCA Battery (Date TBD as of 12/2/02)
- Auxillary Springs - Standard with 5.4L changed to Available with 5.4L only with Camper package, Snow Plow Package, MAx front GAWR & Heavy Duty Front Suspension Pkg, - 11/4/02
- Drivers side Vanity Mirror standard on XLT changed to Not Available
- Dual Sunvisors on Lariat chagned to Single Sunvisor on Lariat
- Hood Blanket for XL Trim changed to not available
- FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHTS CHANGED TO COURTESY REFLECTOR
- Map Pockets with Carpet changed to Carpet Not Available (Posters Note: Not sure what the heck this was supposed to mean - probably means no carpet in the map pocket - at least that's what I think it means
- Integrated Leather Head Restraint changed to Integrated Vinyl Head Restraint

This all comes from the "Marketing Strategy and Mix Recommendations" that were published by Ford for the 03 F-250's. My copy is dated 3/1/03. I have it for the 03 F-350 as well. It was available on the net somewhere - sorry don't remember but I found the link here a while back. If anyone is interested in the whole document I have them for the 03's in PDF format.

Below is the link for the 05 F-250's. I believe that you can change the F250 in the link to F350 to get the F-350 document. The 04's may still be available by changing the year in the link to 2004.
