C6 kickdown linkage

What happens if the kickdown linkage is not hooked up? Obviously, the downshift function doesn't work and it won't shift as late under lots of throttle, but anything that will hurt the tranny?? Thanks in advance.

I say it's not a problem, some agree and some don't. Here's some fun reading on it that got locked right as things were really getting fun.

the c-6 is one of the only trannies that you can leave the kickdown unhooked. it is harmless.

Absolutly right, the only effect is no full throttle kickdown except at low speed where the vacumn modulator will allow a downshift.

I'm not using one on my '53. I'm also running a manual/automatic valve body.
