My cross-over steering

Ok 1978 F-250 D60 front end.
I got the steering arm and I need to take the measurements
so Shaker Built can make the drag link. On the phone he said the pitman
arma dn the steering arm should be facing the front bumper. But if
I set it up like that the pitman arm will hit my leaf spring. So the only
way I can see it would work is if the pitman arm faces the rear bumper
and the steering arm faces the front. Is this how you guys have yours
set up? I looked through some peoples galleries but the pictures seemed
kinda of dark and I couldn'tt which way the pitman arm was facing.

I took a measurement of 40.75" front arm to arm. I knw I ask alot of
questions but I would rather double check with those who have done it
then order parts and then have to send them back.

Thanks again!

Your pitman arm needs to be facing the way it was or the way it came from facotry, other wise you will turn to the left and it will turn right UNLESS you switch the steering arm to face rearward. Basically they need to be pointing in the same direction

I don't know what they're talking about at Shaker but with the steering box on that truck your pitman arm should face backwards and your steering arm on the knuckle should be forward:

No, opposite directions. And if you have your pitman the same as from the factory it's sideways. How do you make that work for crossover steering?

ok im wrong... I was thinking of my truck. I understand how they need to be facing opposite directions now. I didnt think that they made the boxes do reverse of what the steering wheel was doing. make sense? My pitman arm goes the same was as the steering wheel, but if the steering arma nd pitman arm are reverse of each other then you have to have the box turnning opposite of the wheel. right?

This should be set up the same way any truck that came stock with the short drag link and the steering arm on the driver's side knuckle. If the truck came with a long drag link that went to the passenger's side, like some of the F150's then I think it may turn the opposite way.

Cool thanks Ivan!
I must have missed that pic of your front set up in your galleries.

Edit: I totally missed your cross-over steering gallery I'm blind.
