Motorcraft Platinum or double platinum?

Motorcraft Platinum or double platinum?

1990 F-250
Automatic trans.
351
Gas
4X4
Dual tanks

And what kind of wire's should I get?

I still have to take a look under the hood to see what kind of system I have, it is ether a DIS/EDIS system. If I have a Dis system, what kind of cap and rotor should I get? If I have a EDIS system, is there somthing else I should get? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been reading about the DIS/EDIS system, my nest question is, is it possible to have both or just one or the other? Soory if this sounds like a stupid question.

DIS is distributorless ignition system, right? Your '90 has a distributor and one ignition coil. About the only thing platinum plugs are good for is longevity. The regular plugs will be just fine and cost a lot less. I've used NGK's since I've had my truck, but motorcraft/autolite plugs are just fine.

Well I decided that I will use Motorcraft Platinum plugs, Motorcraft cap and rotor and wires. I hope it will work out fine. I still do not know if Motorcraft OEM is anything different then just Motorcraft. I wish somebody could clear that up for me. I also read that someone had a problem with Motorcraft Platinum plugs in a 351, but I am sure that he must of been experiencing other prblems and was just blaming the plugs, considering that alot of people hear seem to like Motorcraft Platinum plugs and I am sure that alot of these people have 351 motors in there trucks.

Thanks to all that helped me out.

Motorcraft OEM is just plain Motorcraft.
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer.

I've heard Motorcraft caps and rotors are the most reliable replacments. Makes sense seeing that they made them for the trucks to begin with.

just to keep it straight, you might have read a lot of people had trouble with platinum plugs as to what you are saying that people like them.

good luck with trying platinums and tell us how they work out in a couple of thousand miles.

Now a have a new problem, trying to figure out what kind of cap and rotor to buy, Cap; w/Distributor Mounted Module or Cap; w/Remote Mounted Module. What is the difference?

They are the same. The bowl is different, but the caps are the same. However, go and look at your distributor, and if there is a gray module with a big flat plug on it, you have the distributor mounted module. If it has a wiring pigtail with a round plug, you have the remote mount module. However, they should both use the same distributor caps.

where are you buying this stuff? The year/make/model should tell them all they need to know.

why the confusion on the cap?

like epncsu2006 says tell them what you have and they get the part.

you must be going to autozone.

Being a '90 I would think module on the distributor. My '90 F150 302 is on the dizzy and my '88 E250 351w is too. You may wanna check about a new coil also.
