I have read the technical informations and the post at the beginning of this site and it still doesn't answer my questions. As per the owners manual for my 93' Ranger 2.3L 4cyl 4x2 the proper plug number is AWSF-32PP. Are these double platinum plugs?? I do have 4 plugs on each side of my engine but I have no idea whether I have the DIS system of the EDIS system. Any advice on the matter??
From all I have read these are Double Platinum plugs. Call any auto parts place and ask for what would be a substitute plug an is it a double platinum.
don't waste your money on platinum plugs.the get fouled and crap out on you. i have seen enough service bulletins from the big three to back me up. whenever they ship a vehicle off to where the gas isn't always perfectly clean they send 2 extra sets and wish the owner good luck. by some cheapies and replace them more often.
Thanks all...I dug a little more on the motorcraft website and on the autolite website and finally found the answer I was looking for. I apprecaite all the help...and for anyone else that might be interested as per the Motorcraft site those AWSF-32P series plugs have been "replaced" and substituted with AGSF-32FM plugs don't really know why but that's what they say. Tks again for all the great advice.

The "FM" series plugs are the new Motorcraft "fine metal" plugs that Ford now recommends for virtually all of its DIS/EDIS ignition systems. According to Motorcraft and Ford engineers, it's an even better plug than the double platinums, more suitable to the "waste spark" design used by those sytems.
Motorcraft still uses platinum in the newly designed plug, it's just used differently...
All I could say was wow. Changed all the plugs on my 93' 2.3L yesterday. Turned out to be about a 2 1/2 hour job total with 2 people working on it. The old plugs were so fouled I don't even know how the truck was starting. The average gap on the old plugs was .075-.085 with one plug being as bad as .1 as a gap. Also to my astonishment 2 of the plugs were original factory equipment. They were plug 4 on both sides of the engine so be careful if you take your trucks in and to get the plugs done they are probably not changeing them all!!! Truck runs great now. No more rough idle and I have pickup again. I went with the Autolite Double Plats and corresponding wires which are the same thing to the Motorcraft AWSF-32PP's that my manual calls for. Thanks again for everyone's help FTE rules!!!!!!

PP is double platinum from what I remember - a single platinum equivalent would have a single P
