Hey magnum, give us a price range, as this helps narrow it down. Personally, I like the eTrex series of GPS's. Very simple, lots of features, small, lots of accessories.
I have a Garmin etrex and it's pretty good 'economical' unit. It works great in forested areas and it will get you out of the woods.
I used mine to get me out of some thickly planted pine trees on my g/f's land. Driving through on an atv where all the trees look alike....it's easy to get turned around.
There are a world of different GPS units out there. If you can afford it...get her one of the units from tomtom.com
price range would be the $500 to $700 from what I have seen. on a few reviews of Garmin some complained about charge for updates, what exactly is the charge for?
