And I thought it was just me who had noticed the leak on the underside of my truck as I was installing my edge egt probe. Just as beetlebarn said.... the little rubber insert that comes off of the transmission i have a small leak there but no oil on the driveway yet.

Just took mine in today, 03 F250 33000 miles. Had a few spots in the driveway, told them to take a look for a leak while changing my oil. Sure enough got a call a few minutes ago and said they would have to pull the engine to fix it. Now I will be without it for the next 3-5 days. I have already had the cracked Y pipe replaced. Hunting season is in, better not be too long before i get it back.

They said that the couldn't tell exactly, but there were 2 possible spots. He said they would be able to tell when they pulled the engine. I will post once i know and fill everyone in.

Gawd all Mighty!

Mean you did't read about all the oil leaks on the 6.0 before you bought one?

This 6.0 Forum is so full of oil leak situations on the 6.0 back to the initial release in '03 that is really getting to be pathetic.

MY bad too! Bought my late '04 everybody hear said all problems resolved. NOT!!!!!

Finally just decided I'd drive mine till it dies.

I got tired of "bitchin" on thois forum myself. Ford has no solution, nor do the techs that frequent this forum.

If you can't stand powerwashing oil out of your garage or cleaning an engine, you should not have bought the 6.0.

Oil leaking, coolant puking engine that it is the engine is strong.

Your service dealer will tell you the same thing mine told me? "that's typical."

If you can't deal with oil leaks and coolant leaks, sell it now for another brand. If you can, wear the shoes off the horse you bought!!!

You want find any conclusive advice that can help you here on your oil leak.

o5 SD 13000 miles rear main seal leaking. I was told by a young tech that they are seeing more and more of this. Has something to do with the re-design of the the rear main seal. old design incorporated some type of spring new type does not. Also I called the manufacturer and asked them to start a file with all the problems I am having with not only the truck but also the dealership. This could be useful for later on after warrantee expires.

Question to Catfish_Man: Do you think a new truck should leak oil? I don't think it should. Maybe to you it's acceptable, but not to most folks.

I'm dealing with the same issue, and I'm on my second SD in less than two months. I will be taking my F250 in on Monday to deal with the leak. If they don't fix it, back it goes and back it goes, until, either its fixed, or I start buy back proceedings.

I'm sorry, but I feel that there should be responsibility on the part of Ford. After all, Ford claims "Quality is job one".. Let them prove it!

Mine has leaked a little here and there from the front of the engine at the crank. It looks like some sensor or something on the bottom is leaking. I havnt had time to remove the Banks and take it in yet.

Went in to pick mine up yesterday after a replacement of the rear main oil seal. Mine had more than one hanging drop though. The tech said it was leaking pretty bad.

I happened to see the shop foreman, he ask me what I was doing, I told him "I was in to pick up my Fix Or Repair Daily" and proceeded to tell him my frustrations about having the truck in for so many issues. He agrees that ford should do a little more research before they start throwing these motors out there. Over all I still wouldn't have any other truck, believe this truck is still the strongest around.

[QUOTE] I believe the oil would have to be pouring out before I'd let the engine be pulled particularly since many of the fixes did not really fix the oil leak. Hope this does it for you.

I agree. As long as I don't have to add oil to it due to the leak, I will be leaving it. At the moment, I don't have a leak...but then, I don't raise the hood to look at anything for fear I might see one...LOL. Just drive it. They all at some time seem to leak some place. They gotta pull the entire front of the truck off just to got access to the R/M. That alone is a three hour job. Thank god I bought the extended warranty!

I joined the oil leak club yesterday. Had a minor leak in the driveway and gave it time to determine if it was assembly lube, nope - RMS was replaced. The shop started early afternoon and I was back on the road by 5:30pm. Hope it holds!
