Cab/cargo light

My son has an '04 F150 SC Lariat. He asked me a question about the cargo/cab light and I told him I would take it to the ultimate source on Ford trucks. It appears that the cab and cargo lights on his truck, which share a switch, turn on and off together. His friends with Chebby and Dodge trucks can turn theirs on separately or together, is this possible on his truck?

I do believe you'd have to tweak/mod the wiring and put in your own switch. I wish I could just turn on one or the other, but this is just not an option on our trucks.
