Hi everyone, I'm new to the 60's era ford trucks. I just bought a 1966 F-100 stepside, 390 3 on the tree. It's in really great conditon as it sits, but there are some things I would like to change. First off the grill is painted, does anyone know were I can buy a chrome grill for this, or know of a chromer in North Central Indiana. Also, what is a good site for performance and interior parts (aftermarket)? I'd like to put aluminum ***** and such in the interior. Can anyone help?
paint stripper, remove it and strip the thing. If it's aluminum it can be polished to look like chrome...If it's steel chrome it..but it wont be cheap. To expensive to chrome = buy the new one and ebay the original EHEHE
My vote is to chrome the original steel if it is perfect shape. Will cost about the same as a new aluminum, but is much stronger, a real consideration for that fragile bird-beak '66 grille especially.
Plus I have a NOS aluminum '64 grill in the original box, and they just do not shine like a chrome grille, the chromed steel are much nicer IMO.
