Fuel pump Confusing me

I had many electric fuel pump problems in the not so distant past on my 78 f250 460. When I stepped on it seemed to shut off too, but it was delivery problems. The location of the pump in my situation was not a concern, because it is right next to the tank. The first electric pump I put in was because of a vapor lock problem when towing and it lasted 9 years; NAPA pump. However, when I put a new one in, it went out about three weeks later (Thanks NAPA). Anyway, the second one lasted about 8 weeks. The third (and hopefully last) is in there still working (been 10 weeks), but I put my mechanical pump back in as well. Now, I have a pusher and a puller. From my experience, you probably just have a bad pump.
