Expedition third seat question

Hi,
I have a 1997 Expedition that did not come from the factory with a third row seat. I bought one from ebay and now can't find a source for the mounts that go in the floor. Are these available or should I sell the seat?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I too have no third row seat, fortunately I have not bought one, but upon examination, the indentions in the floor and a plastic pice held in by a small bolt, are the only things present in my truck. What else would be needed for this swap?

well I'm fortunate enough to have a third row seat in my expy and after looking at the track during the removal process i've noticed that there are 2 "tracks" with locking mechanisms that work to safely secure your removable seat, as well as a center anchoring point that doubled as a prop to "prop" up the seat when more cargo space is required. But the most important part(s) that are not going to be there if your vehicle did not come with that option is seatbelts and their respective anchors. but I would assume if you lift you cargo area carpet and joot pad you will find the channels needed to safely lock in a seat (factory removable) maybe just have to tailer the carpet accordingly. Buy a couple of seatbelts from the bone yard and you should be good to go. By the way you probably dont need me to tell you this but safety and propper instalation is the most important. When I prop my seat up or put it back down i always jack it back in forth to make sure it's seated correctly.(11 Year old loves to sit back there)!! yeah I know theres a pun or two in there

Hi boatcop1,
Thank you for the reply. I reached under the carpet and I dont think there is anything there that will accept the seat. I also have an 11 year old and that is the primary reason that I wanted to put in the seat. Apparently, the seat receivers must be factory built into the body. I am not giving up yet. Possibly there is a way to "aftermarket" this feature. I thank you for taking the time to reply.

i cant believe that Ford did not install those channels on all vehicles! Yes they are part of the body, the rear cargo floor is designed to accept the seat I just figured if you did not get that option all the openings and such would still be there! Oh well good luck and keep us posted on what you end up comming up with.
