electric third row

is there a way to convert manual thrid row seats to electric fold down?

We have a lead on a 2016 Expedition for cheap but it doesnt have the electric third row seats. Our 2008 Expedition has them but it is on its last legs.

Can I simply take the electric mechanism from the 2008 and attach it to the 2016 manual seats?

I don't have the shop manual for either model year, but I would imagine it's not that simple.

How many miles on your 2008? Eight years is a heck of a short life.

175K and we are in rust territory, got ABS, electrical, 4WD and exhaust manifold problems.

We will keep it around for a beater truck but need something more reliable for wife and kids to go south

Damn, that's awful for an 8 y/o vehicle with only 175K. I wouldn't be buying another if I had had the same experience. Every vehicle out there these days should hit at least 200K before needing significant repairs. Good luck with the next one anyway.
