Guys,
Surely someone has had to deal with this problem: My brother and I have 1978 F150 4x4, that is begging to be rescued from his back forty (literally) as it has been sitting there for about six years. It ran when he parked it. It did have steering issues, brakes needed redone, etc.
We went back yesterday to drag it out, and the cab is now home to mice. They are in the glovebox, dash, etc.
This truck is very much worth saving, although the bed will have to be replacd.
What is our first step in eradicating the rodentia??
Thanks,
Mark
Considering how I dislike the little buggers... I would open the doors and use any long handle items I have close to open the glove box and stir things up. Do it while the truck is in the field, that way you won't have to worry about them getting in the garage...
Yeah,
These little guys give me the ******. I thought about leaving some mouse killer stuff in there for a few days, then come back and confirm the body count. The thing is, then I've got dead ones in there. I'm really most concerned with the condition of the wiring harness. I foresee all the wires needing to be replaced.
Oh well, it's gotta be done. This truck will only deteriorate further if left there longer, and it's too good of a truck for that.
I'm with dennis. those electic units work well, and you won't have to round up a bunch of bodies then. Do remember to wear a dust mask when cleaning out the droppings however.
Wow,
Thanks for all the great replies. I didn't know they made a device that chases mice away. I'll make use of all this great advice. Thanks guys.

Ultrasonic sound is a frequency too high to be heard by the human ear (your eardrum can't vibrate fast enough). People can hear sounds ranging from 20 to 20,000 cycles per second, while dogs and cats can hear up to 27,000 cycles per second. The range of other animals can be even higher. It sends a signal around or approx. to between 32 and 62 kHz. It doesn't kill the critters, it chases them away.
I told Michelle they play the music to " It's a small world" over & over 24/7 until they get sick of it then they leave...... *HUGE GRIN*
It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all
There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world
