I picked up an escort that had been parked for a couple of years once, put it on my trailer and took it down the hyway, about 100 mice were running around on the trailer and they all took the big jump at 60 :-) it was a mass mouse suicide, guess they don't like speed.......
Their urine can cause so much corrosion it's unreal. Here are some proven methods to get rid of them 1) Mice are allergic to oil of Peppermint-sprinkle a few drops around and they will split quick. 2) Killer mashed Potatoes-Leave a bowl of potato flakes and a small bowl of water. They will eat the flakes and drink the water. The flakes expand in their stomach and the stomach burst's.3) Hire a rat-rats hate mice and will run them down and kill them(probably not the best idea for trucks huh?) After the rats do their job they return to their Chevies.

I heard mothballs will get them out, as they hate the smell.
You will then need to get the smell out, particularly if any died in there (and you need to remove those first).
You can use Lysol 'Linen' scent and spray it into the air intake duct. Tape the vents closed and run the blower with heat on high. (give enough time to let the flammable, explosive propellant dissipate)
