wicked wheel question

An after market exhaust brake attached to the exhaust is not recommended by Ford or Navistar. Using the EBVP to act as an exhaust brake, as far as I know, has not caused any damage. The butterfly still allows air to pass, and does not fully restrict the exhaust. I hahve been using it for a long time towing and non towing and the temp have been within spec.

Good to know. More food for thought. I've been thinking that my EBPV brake has been a Godsend, and am very reluctant to give it up for safety's sake. 24k going down a six mile, 6% winding road..... well it's nice to have.

Thanks for all the great info. I ordered the EBPV valve eliminator bolt-on and had one more question. If I use this will it throw off a code? If there is a code can you rig it up so it doesn't set off this code? Thanks

another question- does it close and stay closed during braking operation, or does it open and close rapidly?

<CHUCKLE>(chuckle) That would make it sound like an old **** buzz bomb.
It closes for the duration of the braking operation.
