Tail Lights / Blinkers on a 54

Currently my truck has what appears to be aftermarket blinkers added to the front and back. So I have what appears to be a set of rear tail lights from a 56? or newer. These are the "badge" shaped lenses. The wire has a connector with two plugs in the end.

Is this for an integrated brake and blinker?

Also, is there any other blinker style for the front? Right now they are mounted on the front fenders.

(I'm converting to 12v & getting a 'lil side-tracked as always)

The fender mounted lights were a standard dealer/factory ?? option I believe and are on my 54 F350.
The rears are the earlier round type bolted to the sides of the bed.

Sorry, you are probably correct. Somebody told me they were aftermarket.

I have the stock (12 volt) "shield" lights on my 56. One wire is running tail lights, the other is brake/turn signals.

The 56 front turn signal lights are the same two wires and they are under the headlight buckets.

Thanks for the info... I'll have to do some more investigation to figure out how to use these on my 54. I'd like to simplify to a single set of rear lights.

Whether you can "simplify to a single set of rear lights" depends on your electrical system; specifically, your turn signal switch and brake light setup. Some directional signal switches will allow the use of a single light with two filaments where the brighter filament can be used for both directional signals and brake lights and some do not. They use to call these 5 wire and 7 wire systems years ago. The five wire was not integrated but the 7 wire was...

Jack, there is a wiring diagram here http://www.clubfte.com/users/earl/Re..._Material.html for the "integrated" or 7-wire indicator switch. Maybe you can see if your's matches the wiring. The color codes are for the factory/dealer stock (optional) indicator lights.
