My V10 kicks butt!
I pull horses regularly and the engine just handles it (the task of moving around about 13 or so thousand pounds) without a hiccup/complaint or making me have a real need to want more power.
My last two fillups showed an average of 13.5 MPG. With only about 200 miles of the 1100 or so driven towing 4300 pounds.

I do not have 3V envy anymore...I'm quite content with what has been provided to me.
My 2V V10 was an addition to my 7.3L on steriods... Lord knows I love power, lots of power... once long ago I screwed up and bought the wife and I a Nissan Sentra that would get 38mpgs... dang thing took three exits to get up to freeway speeds.. Renie (my wife) threatened eunuch status if I ever bought another underpowered vehicle.
Me, with a big grin, knew that she just gave me license to have a LOT of fun.
Back to the SuperDuty series of trucks...
My 7.3L was a stump pulling serious truck.
Renie conned me into offering to buy a 2001 Platinum V10 4 door very pretty truck that sat on Cove Fords lot over 9 months. I ultimately got the damned thing for way less money than it was supposed to be worth.
One of our planned scheduled trips to Colorado found me waiting for the BTS tranny for my PSD. So I hooked up the Brake controller and weight distribution hitch to the Platinum and off we go.
310 Hp and 425 Ftlbs in place of 480 and 700. I was certain I was not going to like the experience. Up through Texas no problem. Into New Mexico and hit the Ratone Pass... My God this thing will pull if you wind her up some.
A left in Denver and out to Loveland and Vail Passes long steep climbs from 5300 foot up to summit at 11,800 feet... Damn but this puny 415 cubes sure do like to rev and pull... walked past a few Dodges, many Big rigs, and quite a few plain old cars on both those passes.
My load was quite a bit over gross for the poor little 4 door 3.73:1 4x4 F250 considering there were four full sized people, Pete the Boston Terrier, Two Harley's and a 27 Foot bumper drag TT hanging off the *** end.
On the way home Justen, and Paula my semi adult children 22, 24 both told me that next year they wanted the Platinum and leave Big Blue (the PSD) at home. Fast, Quiet, smells better, QUIET and they loved the 4 door and leather (big blue was a cloth extra/super cab)
OK you ask... if you loved the power of the 2v V10 Platinum whats the deal...
Just this... the King Ranch 3v V10 with the 5R110 and 4.30:1 is like Will Smith in a new Black suit... Instead of the motor saying "Damn..... I make this look good!"
It puffs up it's 415 cubes and proudly proclaims!!!!
Damn....! I make this look.... EASY!
Today was the first time I ever let anybody touch my pride and joy . I got the Viper Responder Security remote installed and so far I am very impressed. Lot's of features and the truck talks to your little remote up to 1/4 mile away.
The job is neat and tidy and the bright blue LED is visible in bright sunlight. He put it up in the centre of the map light housing.
Many features on this unit and you have a timer mode where it will start and run the engine every 3 hours for a preset time. Mine is 12 minutes. He demonstrated the antigrind feature and it works. I tried it myself and it felt so wrong to try and crank the engine while it was running, but no crank happens.
You see a little pic of the vehicle on the remote and it has an exhaust plume when it is running. It has a turbo timer for diesels and I can opt to turn off the key and let it run if I want to. The park lights come on while it is running. It the truck is stolen in the first year I get 2500 bucks from Viper. Directed Electronics Inc. makes a lot of systems
but this is their V10 model ( by that I mean the best you can buy). The guy gave me a second full feature remote at his cost.
Here in BC , the Ford SD is the only new vehicle that made the top 10 stolen vehicle
list. The rest are 90 model Japanese cars. Canada has made it law for every vehicle to have the chip in key anti theft in either 06 or 07.
My brother's 05 Dodge has the anti theft key and who in the heck would want to steal a Dodge.
My viper alarm will kick your alarms butt! nah nah nah
Just watch out for the autolock feature it can bite you when you least expect it!!!!!!!!
Monsta are their alot of soccer moms on the Island?????

It is a differant story with 4wheelers you better keep'em chained up with a couple big dogs
My Dad was on the ferry one time and there were some of our natives or First Nations as they now go by. They are very competitive Canoe racers and some of these canoes are very long.
The Ferry Corp charges something like a 1.50 a foot for overlength and these canoes are many feet longer than the pick up racks they carry them on.
The First Nation guys were ticked at the huge fare they got hung with and then the Ferry crew tried to park vehicles under their canoes. They took a stand and I don't blame them one little bit. They paid for the space and Ferries is now charging someone else to park on it. A heated argument broke out and the Captain himself got involved
but in the end, the Native guys won out and the ferry crew parked no cars under the long boats. I think that was fair but if I was one of the people that had to wait 2 hours for the next ferry, I might not feel that way.
