I don't care which they stay with, just QUIT SWITCHING IT!!!! It could be left on daylight savings year around, and I would be fine with it. It is a well documented fact that people loose productivity when their sleep schedules get screwed with like that.
I'm with you, Tim. Indiana finally gave in, and next year we will be time-challenged as well. I still contend that any energy savings gained by falling back and springing ahead (or is that falling forward and springing back ) is completely offset by the lost productivity when the populace has to spend a bunch of time switching all their clocks.
Just wait until the new federal rules go into effect, changing the days that we do the switches. Think of all the devices (VCRS, etc.) that automatically switch to DST and back on the appropriate days--they will no longer, so they will be off by an hour for a few weeks on each end.
I refuse to participate. I will remain on the current time...DST or Standard, whichever way it goes, I can never keep track of which is which.
Anyway, I'll keep my clocks just as they are and go on with my life just as it is. The rest of the country can durn well change to accommodate me! (Yeah riiiight...that'll happen!)
I never move my clocks around. I just adjust my mind for one hour earlier until spring. One year my wife moved the clocks without me knowing and I felt like I was living in a parrellel universe. Just kidding. I change them now but didnt used to. Everytime I would have to change the time I had to dig up the manuels for all of my electronic equipment to figure out how to change the time.
Thats why I moved here. Time doesnt change, but everything else does, like tv shows, And work starts an hour later, so it still screws ya around either way.
My alarm clock automatically changes itself. This is gonna be interesting trying to get my forum to change the time though, I have been having problems with it and finally fixed it. We'll see.
Best part of daylight savings is this time, I get an extra hour of sleep.
I've yet to see a valid reason for changing the clocks. Farmers now use tractors w/ lights- I've seen them out at 4 in the AM. And school kids going to school in the dark? There is a school bus picking up kids outside my subdivision every morning @ 5:30 AM. Around here, it's never light out at all @ 5:30, daylight or standard.

Wowsa- that seems awfully early for a schoolbus to be picking up kids.
