Post on here what's on the plate and we will see if we can figure it out.

As far as setting up a gallery.

1 - Click on your User ID in your post above.
2 - Click on USER CP located in the thin Blue header and located all the way to the left in the header
3 - All the way to the lift, there will be a list of edit options. Hit Edit Gallery
4- You should see an option to Create an Album
5 - Follow directions

What they are asking for may initially be soewhat confusing. Just type something and when you are done, you will see where everything went. You can always go back and edit later.

Remember to click "hidden or technical" at the very end of creating the album. You'll see what I'm talking about when you get there. If you don't the Album police may delete your album without giving any notice. This doesn't really make it hidden or invisible to others. It just keeps it out of the main FTE album whihc they seem to want limited to just trucks. Fair enough. They did this to one of mine when I was first learning how to do this.

Hack at it for a while and you will figure it out. Hope this help[s to get you started. I found it a bit confusing at first as well and it took me a while to figure it out.

Good Luck.

I'm still sorting thru the Canadian vins, but here's what I can tell you about your tag at this point. If you'll chip in the missing info it'd sure help me solve some mysteries.

DF is the designation for the F65/F3 3/4 tons
83 is std cab pickup (Is your wheelbase 114" or 122"?)
H is Ontario assembly plant (Home Office)
48 is the year
25561 is the serial number

What engine do you have? I'm not familiar with all the engine codes. Only other one I have logged was 9E for the 239 V8.

Trim - is yours std or deluxe?

Paint - M14286 is the code for Birch gray (no 14285 in 1948) That number was used in 1950 for sheridan blue

Thanks for the help

As for the engine I know next to nothing aboiut flatheads,(I know t-birds as the name implies) how would I figure out the displacement? I think its the longer wheelbase since the rear fenders arent centered on the box, theres more in fromt then behind but i'll measure it next time i'm out there, tomorrow hopefully. as for the trim level its pretty plain, i'll post a pic, it hit a deer and was parked but it has a merc front clip in the box, just gotta find a hood

Looks a little rough but I am sure it will look real nice. Are you going to go with some fiberglass or find more sheet?

gonna stay with steel, cant afford new parts, gotta scrounge around for used and possibly abused stuff to to make work.. truck will hopefully be getting real attention next winter, have a couple other projects to finish up first. Just trying to learn as much as I can before I jump in to it. I know where theres another one, possibly two to scrounge parts off before they completely sink in to the ground still not sure about a hood though

If you get into a pinch, I would not rule out fixing the one that's on there, especially if it is void of rust. From the angle in the picture, it looks like it may be repairable but I'm sure the most severe damage is on the other side. Anyhow, good luck with it.

It looks like the front clip that you have in the bed is Canadian (Mercury). I sure like the turnsignal lights and the fender trim on the Mercury front clips.

Cool truck! Good luck with it, I know how you feel, my checkbook is in complete control of my project

Based on the large wheel wells and long bed in the picture you definitely have an F-2 or F-3 (or F-65 Canadian equivalent) with a 122 inch wheelbase.

Only answers I didn't give you were engine and trim level and you didn't answer my questions. One wiper or two, one visor or two, etc. The picture you did show tells it is 122" wheelbase which Vern explained.

Can't id the flatty without a picture of the engine and one of the heads or more information. Look for 8RT or 8BA or 8CM. No other numbers/letters will mean much - 6049/6050 are R/L head numbers. Does the carb have a 3 bolt or 4 bolt base?

CID is most likely 239 if it's a stock V8. Don't believe you got 6 cylinders back then.

The only way to really know what you have is to pull it apart and measure the stroke.

Wasnt trying to be rude, was just wondering if anyone else might know how to decode the rest, I know next to nothing about trucks, especially ones of this vintage. I really appreciate the help from you and everyone else on this site.

Thanks for explaining what to look for, to answer some of your questions:

Wipers - not sure, will check
Visors - two
Wheelbase - 122

Head says 8RT on the drivers side

Carb I believe is a 3 bolt but not 100% sure

also heres a pic if it helps any
