3.0 with unusual squeek along fuel rail, near the back . I put a scewdriver against the rail and put the handle against my ear and could hear a definite squeek/chatter noise. Do fuel injectors do this wierd stuff ????? Or is there some other strange little gizmo that could be doin this ????
I've never heard of the fuel injectors sequeaking (but they do click).
If you are sure it's not the belts or any of the pulleys, then you might consider a bad camshaft postion synchronizer, which can make a similar squeak like that:
Well, you guys were right. It was the synchronizer shaft bearing, that could have been silenced for $.10. Yep, a squirt of wd-40 or something like that would have silenced the dry bushing, I decided to go with the $130.00 fix. I took my old one apart thinking there was just a dry roller bearing that I might have replaced, nope, just a cheap press-in bushing that is supposed to be oil pressure lubed, which doesn't happen or we wouldn't be doin all this nonsence. But if there is "no shaft movement" when you take off the sensor, try squirting some hi-tech super lube under the little rotating sensor wheel that has the tab on it---before you shell out $$$$$. And thanks alot for all the help, this site is awsome.
