KW... I don't see anything about running my "programmer" on extreme all the time. Where is it? All of those posts you put up were all dated in Feb. when I bought the Edge tuner. Who wouldn't try the various settings on it when it's new? But a few posts about It's now November, and for the past 7 months, it's been on TOW mode or sitting in my garage work bench collecting dust.....not 'extreme'.

By the way... I found out from the dealer that the problems I thought may be associated with the EDGE were in fact various recall items and defective sensors which I was told was quite common in the 6.0 for failing. And...since you ask me if this tuner is the cause of my problems....If it were true, I would tell you. But..since this is MY truck and I'm the guy driving it and loosing it to the dealer for days at a time, I'M the one who can tell you if the truck is a lemon or if I'm abusing it. I am not abusing it, unless you consider pulling my 5th wheel, abuse?

I'm not chunking rocks dude...just at my end with people on here trying to blame my Edge/SCT with all the problems on my truck. It's false. Edge tuners don't kill starters, and don't make coolant reserve tank plastic caps to get stuck, etc. The problems are all completely unrelated to the Edge tuner and tranny tune.

If they were related, I'd be the first to tell you. As far as honesty goes, I will not throw pearls to swine who will void my warranty in an act of intellectual dishonesty and civil tort indifference because of cost cutting and corporate power.

When I have OJ's legal team, I will flaunt my rights under Federal Law ie: Moss-Magnussen Warranty Improvement Act". Or when Ford becomes honest itself and takes the blame for it's own lemons.

What was the reason for the tuner in the first place. Dont the 6.0 have enough power as is.. Maybe you need to see a different dealer before I would throw in the towel for good. Not all techs are the same.

I don't think there is any real need to point fingers - in either direction.

Dogdude,

In your post #13 above you wrote the following...

"I'm not the only one...look around. Heck...I can walk next door and talk to my neighbor who had HIS 6.0 bought back. And I live in the sticks. It's common. Even guys at the gas station who I run into with 6.0s tell me of THEIR problems...and these are complete strangers at the fuel pump. Talk to the service advisors at my dealerships. (or at any dealer for that matter) One guy has the turbine wheel from a 6.0 on display on his desk...the other at a different dealership was telling me about the numerous buybacks there."

Why do you ask us how to do a buy-back... just walk next door and ask him. He can tell you the process, who to call, write and what amount they paid him and how it was computed. Seems to me that you ask questions, but don't take advantage of your neighbor.... why???? If it worked for him... use his advice instead of asking here.

Again, you post a thread, answer in "wierd ways" and get upset when me and others ask questions or document why we wonder about your posts, problems and motivations.

Buy a 6-pack and talk with your neighbor and I am sure all will be well.

Jeff

dog. No one even implied that you ran your programmer on extreme all the time. You, however, specifically stated "no extreme tuner here"..."I don't run a "programmer" in "extreme" mode. So..no"

So, is this like being almost pregnant? You say "no extreme" in one post and praise it in another. Kinda like being almost credible. Either you is...or you isn't. It seems, sometimes, that the more people speak of truth...the less they know of it.

You speak of truth and honesty yet you defile Ford without being truthful to them.

To your point and generally speaking, I don't believe programmers create problems unless abused. However, by your own words, your problems started just after you stacked. Coincidence? Maybe.

Nor do I believe that all of your issues are programmer related but, some could be...then a possible cascade effect can ensue.

No one attacked you here dog but you sure got defensive, without provocation. No one said to you here that Ford is great and you are imagining things. Yet you accused us of such. Why?

My position on the bad ones are well documented here and I wish you the best in getting your issues resolved. I do feel you put Ford in hard position to help if they do not know the whole story / history. But, as you stated...it's your deal....therefore it is your delima...or debacle.

Again, I had no intention of getting into this debate with you or to challenge you in any way. You created this atmosphere. But, I'll take this opportunity to remind you of a couple of old clichés...Don't bring a knife to a gunfight...and...don't screw with old fat boys, you may not be up for the task.

I just asked a simple question in order to maybe spur on some helpful suggestions. Apparently you do not want suggestions or help, just a box to stand on to offer up your perspective of Ford and the 6.0.

Again, good luck.

Again... you wrote (today/this evening no less) that you could just walk next door and speak with your neighbor... now you say he moved 2 weeks ago... so which is it... can you walk next door (no you can't so why did you write that)?

Why not call him... or did he not give you his new number? As a good friend, he would probably still help you?????

Geez... again in a thread you write in such a poor manner that when we question it... you get defensive. So please, don't say you could go next door when in reality you can't... but you could call him???

Your fat-man, knife-carrying friend (see KW's post above - it's a joke) in Kansas.

This is what you wrote... is it not?

Maybe we can have the court reporter read it back (see below your exact words you wrote).

Heck...I can walk next door and talk to my neighbor who had HIS 6.0 bought back.

Now you say you were going to ask your neighbor (see above)... so again, you say two different things and get defensive... how come?

You are a real funny guy. You need to learn that we are here to help, but you have problems typing on this site what you really mean and what the truth is. None of us are picking fights with you, but pointing out the discrepencies in ALL YOUR POSTS....

Call your friend, file a cliam against Ford, hire a lawyer and use the Mag. Moss act as you feel it should be used. Your anger, time and money would be better spent on working on your case against Ford. I just hope you and your lawyer can have honest and open discussions so he can represent you without fail.

I have a question. Doesn't it say somewhere in the manual that running a tuner will void your warranty? I thought I saw that in mine somewhere.

I agree that there are some good 6.0's and some bad. But I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone that has problems with the engine or tranny after messing with the programming. Now, the other things like the starter, coolant cap and non-engine related stuff....I feel for you. That just sucks. My truck has been in for a few things as well in it's short 14,000 mile life. Hydroboost, power windows and now the stereo won't separate the audio for the rear controls. Little things **** me off too.

Let Ford know about the mods you made and play fair. Good luck.

It does. But, even some of those statements are Ford blowing smoke where it don't feel so good.
  • The M& M Act basiclly says it has to be proven to cause the specific failure. And then only voids that specific claim.
  • Life says they can deny anyway and dare you to chase them in the courts. They ain't afraid of no stinking ghosts.
  • If someone challenges them and they loose...it's just one out of a whole bunch that didn't.
The point is, you play you pay. The key is to try and find a sympathic dealer who will work with you on what can or likely can not be covered under warranty. Difficult to be sure...but, the best route.

Otherwise is like calling the doctor and telling him you have been puking all day an please help. All the while never telling him that you were out drinking all night.
