I replacing my on my 390 with a carb that came off an 79 150 and it has a Mechanical flote valve(It think thats what it's called), does anyone know were I connect it to. The carb that's on there know does not have one. It's on the top of the carb in the middle on the front, and it has a connection for a hose.

2BBL or 4BBL ?
I'm thinking you are talking about a the dash pot or choke pulldown.
It is a brass or silver coloured pot that attaches to the accelerator linkage and has a nozzle to connect a vacuum hose to.
If I post a photo you should recoginize it, right?
You can cap it off and try it, but I got out of that habit when I found out it made some of my vehicles hard to start in hot weather. I now put a short piece of hose on it shaped like an elbow and point it up. If you leave it open, when you hit the brakes hard sometimes fuel will spill out onto the manifold.
I have two of those carbs. They are Holley-built Ford 2150's. The float is on the inside, just under the vacuum port you are talking about. The port is for emmissions. It gets connected to a canister on the bottom front of the left (passenger) side of the engine compartment, down near the bottom of the radiator.
My advice: cap it off. I have. It makes no difference.
Thanks Everyone I got the rebuilt the carb and got it put this weekend and it runs great, i just have to fine tune the choke and everything will be all good.
