Need code help
Hi all, On my 1975 1/2 ton F-100 there is some question on engine and transmission. Is there a site where I can decode it. All I have found is that it is a 360 with 3 speed manual. It is in reality a 390 with a C-6. Thanks for any help. F1OYKV83685 WB 139 color G, Type/Gross Vehicle Wt. Straight out of the Ford factory shop manual:
VIN breakdown
F10= F-100 conventional F series gas pick-up
Y=360 gas engine, 2V carb
K=Assembely plant, Michigan Truck
V=Assembely month of November 1974
83685=vehicle production number (the 83,685th one made that year)
WB 139= 139 inch wheel base
Color (paint code)G= Chrome yellow (spec# 1526-A)
Type/GVW F103= F100 4x2 series and 5,200 GVW
Body 4M= '4' means Std. trim 'M' means Super Cab Styleside P/U.
Trans 'C'=Ford Manual 3 speed
Axle 17=Ford corporate axle series 3300 w/ 3.25:1 gear ratio
DSO 22 (District Special Order code)= Charlotte, NC
