Prodigy Brake controller and 94 F150
Hi all -
First time poster to this forum. I have a 94 F150 supercab flareside
that I've played with off an on over the years. Supercharger, lowered, drag
raced, used as a tow vehicle, yada yada yada.
I'm working on installing a Prodigy brake controller. Now I could run all new wires from the battery and do it from scratch. But I've found that Part of the wiring is factory installed for an aftermarket brake controller. Even though my truck did NOT come with the trailer tow option.
Here we go..there is a factory harness connector under the dash (right over the tranmission hump and next to the heater duct outlet). Has 4 wires
(Red, blue, black and white). my ford service manual identified this connection as an eletric brake controller connection. went to u-haul and got the pigtail that fits it. Connected that pigtail to the prodigy pigtail.
Prodigy fired right up. But Here's my problem. The Blue Wire. I see it at the
factory connector. and I can trace it to the connector on the firewall just left of the brake pedal. From there its gone. No Blue wire anywhere at the rear of the truck. I've looked behiond the spare. Checked the entire wire bundle near the axle that go to the rear of the truck.
Why would ford run the blue wire only to the firewall?? I can run a new Blue wire, But I want to make sure I'm not overlooking a chance to use the factory harness.
I've looked all over the net and can't find anyone else that has already asked this question.
Hope someone can help me.

Welcome to FTE! To be honest you taught me something! lol. I didnt know that Ford had the harness ready. My truck came with a brake controller and everything all wired up so I didnt have to worry about it. But I will be sure to ask around and help ya out the best I can.
Anyone else got any suggestions? I know theres gotta be some farmers on here who pull livestock trailers and what not!
