HELP Quitting problem w\94 2.3

I read another thread similar but it was involving a 4.0 ranger. I have a 94 2.3 2wd xl no pwr steering and no ac (The Basic). In march, after i had the fuel pump\sender, filter and lines replaced a week later my truck either driving or idling would stall. When driving it would lose power (not let me give gas to the engine) The batery light would come on and then after it was just about crawling the check e. light in that order. When idling the engine would rumble and then sometimes try to stay on but would stall shortly after. I have pulled codes and Guess what-None. I have also replaced spark ps.and wires and the IAC. I've had the dealership put another fuel pump\sender in and check the lines. Sometimes i smell raw fuel but i assume its becaues the engine is getting flooded. Sometimes when i go to restart it it won't turnover right away and i have to wait maybe 30 secs and rarly i'll have to wait 2 mins before starting right up. The idle is kidna rough and there seems to be a little lopping . Today im going to replace the Pcv valve and inspect the evap sys. Any advice on this problem would be greatly appreciated . I would start with testing the fuel pressure and inspecting the FPR's vacuum line for gass after it's been running for a few minutes.

I'll let you know how i make out w\ the fuel press. it should read at about 32 psi consistantly right- the pvc valve is really inacsessable

where exactly is the FPR (fuel pressure reg.) Right

I'm not familar with the 2.3 but on my 2.9 it was mounted on the fuel rail. If you follow the fuel line you should find it.

Can anyone help him with the exact location?

I found the problem- its something real stupid to- The Fuel pump relay and the EEC Relays in the fuse box under the hood were going bad. Both relays would shut off thier respected devices when they would move in thier plugs. At one point i took the top part of the box off and with the engine runin, slapped the side(of the fuse box) and the truck turned off. and the idle being rough was becaues the EEC was'nt working 3\4 of the time.I am still going to buy a newer ranger anyway I'm lookin at a 98 ext.cab 4x4 w\the 3.0 its got like 115k on it and their askin like 35k for it. Any Advice with common problems with the 3.0 engine or 98 rangers?

The 3.0 isn't the fastest engine but is very reliable.

Two common problems that come to mind are the wipers going on by them self and the dome light staying on. I'm sure some of the other users will have some comments and searching the forum will turn up other stuff.
