Engine stalls when put in gear

Hello, I have a 2000 Ford Ranger Ext Cab 3.0 V-6 and I am having probs. Truck runs just fine in park but hesistates and dies when put in gear and brake is released. I have changed fuel filter and pump/sender unit, checked IAC, scanned for codes reader said "MIL Open", I need help. Truck will continue to run if gas pedal is held down.

sounds like a stuck IAC you can try tapping on body of it and see if it helps. if so clean or replace it.

Bolted on new IAC had the same problem.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! There was a short in the wire to the ignition. No more stalling or hesitation once put in gear. My 2000 Ranger is back to normal after troubleshooting & replacing unneccessary parts for over 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't resolve the problem, I had it hauled to a FORD dealership for repair.
