1994 cm code 214 engine code x no cmp ?
Just wanted to post a success story. Checked out the entire system electrical-wise. No problems. Culprit is now definitly the CMP. Made a check on Ebay - found one for under $50. So to gamble on a used or just buy a new! Well I gambled, got a sweet deal on install by my local shop. They were able to install without removing the manifold. Don't ask me how, I could just barely get my hand back there to check the wiring! They charged me $100 cash. Bargain! Well that did it, no codes, engine is runnig great. Thanks so much to Gil and Jharger for the help. I did double check with the dealer that had quoted me $400+ on labor alone and he said there was no way to do it without removing the intake manifold. Just goes to show. I'm set for another 100k miles!
