Sounds like the Lights Out Module. What do you mean by it doesn't seem to work? There have been a number of posts regarding the Lights Out Module in this forum, you may want to run a search on it.

The timer for the lights insted of staying on for so many seconds they shut off as soon as you shut the door. It kind of sucks because I use the puddle lamps to see around the car while I have my son in my hands.

NFJ, have you tried to adjust it? There's a slide switch for the timer located under the rear-view mirror.....

Not the headlamps but the interior lamps they don't work. Although my mirror doesnt work well it does it just takes its good old time on the dimming side.

NJF, I'll bet the interior lights have been turned off. There's an adjustment wheel to the right of the headlight switch that dims the dash lights. Try turning the roll wheel upward and see if that turns them on.

The lights work the timer just doesnt work as soon as you close the door the lights go off. They should stay on for like 30 seconds and they don't

It's probably the module, unfortunately I don't know where it is, and the wiring diagram on Autozone's site for your model doesn't show it. You might check with a dealership parts department and get them to show you a break down of where it is, or maybe a junkyard.
