Girlfriend and sister had a Halloween party tonight. I was the oldest person going (read: stupidest) and we decided to play Extreme Leapfrog in the STREET. Like regular leapfrog, just the person being leaped over is standing up.
I go to jump over the sister's boyfriend (this is at night) and he stands up right as I do it and I go head over heels onto the pavement. No biggie, I've fallen before doing it, get up and walk it off right.
Not this time, landed on both hands, left first (miracle it didn't break since I broke it last year) then right. Right elbow is in major pain. Can't get into a hospital or care facility 'til morning (six hour wait at the ER).
Sucking it out for tonight, going in tommorow morning.
But the bad news, my Ranger is a manual. And I can't shift with my right arm in a cast :-(. I am so beyond sad. I get to spend six weeks with my mom's Chevy Silverado. Not that I mind the V8. But still, it's lonely without the little Ranger.
Hoping they just give me a brace and permission to drive my Ranger.
Tommorow morning I find out, wish me luck.
You can still shift with your left hand but it's a pain. If you had broken your left leg you would have been tottally screwed. It's imposible to use a clutch with a cast on. It would suk having to drive you moms car though, it would **** me off. At least your mom drives a truck though. My mom drives a Ford Freestyle, it's a total soccer mom wagon. She had an explorer before that and a V8 t-bird before that but she went a little less cool this time, unfortunately.
Have fun typing as well, haha.
i sorta know what you mean. see my wife has a ranger also that i bought her but its a white, 2wd, standard-cab, chick-truck. i mean its a nice truck, clean and all but its not me. i have a 4wd, lifted, black bad ranger. i wanted to see if i got better gas mileage with hers than mine so i took it for a week and she used mine. well lets put it this way, $15 compared to $40. but you know what, i'll spend the $40 just so i can have my ranger. she missed hers also! i don't think other vehicle owners have the same companionship with their rides like us ranger guys... and gals!
I hurt my ankle playing football and have had to wear this heavy duty brace off and on, whenever it feels weak and starts hurting. It limits all kinds of mobility. Before I sold my ranger for my explorer, it was a pain to drive the ranger. Not being able to roll your foot forward onto the clutch, omg, it was rough, and on the bad days, when it was almost impossible to walk, the push from the clutch back onto the foot, that hurt like everything. Did have my right hand wrapped up one day after practice, had no real use of my right hand and had to drive home, that made for an interesting trip, kept slipping off the shifter trying to shift into 2nd and 4th. I feel for you, but a week isn't too bad, and at least ur mom does drive a truck.
