I am moving a 74 front end to my 67. I read somewhere here on the forum ( I cant seem to find it now) That The 74 springs were 18 inches and the 67 springs were 16 inches and that when doing this swap you should keep the 67 springs and not use the 74's springs. Anyone know anything about this? Should I swap the springs and keep my old ones or use the 74's? They are both f100's
I measured both sets, the ones off the 67 as well as the 74 and both sets were 16 inches by about 5 and a half inches. pretty well indentical. I put the 67's back on the 74 so I could roll it around, so please tell me I dont have to take them back off!
So whats the verdict? I posted the question before I had the 74 springs out. So when I measued them they looked about the same to me. And the 67's seemed to fit fine in the 74. Keep or swap?
Well I have the front tires on now and It isn't sagging at all, looks about the same hieghth. Like I said I measured the springs and they were identical. The only thing I couldnt measure would be weight ratios. But I dont beleive they would differ coming off half tons so close together in years, especially when the front ends are an identical swap. Could it be that the taller springs were for the f250's on up? and maybe the 4wd's?
