Well it happen again after driving for a bit and I stopped at the store to pick up a game for my boy. My truck would not start up, it would turn over and putter a bit and die. After about two hours it started right up with no problem. What do you think it can be? I need help with this problem it happen about a mouth ago too. Any tips or advice would be helpful.
The fuel pump is in the tank, the pump could be going bad or
there is a chk valve that keeps pressure at the fuel rail.
If the valve is bad or being clogged by debris the fuel flows back to the tank and will not pump up the pressure to the rail.the pressure needs chkd at the time of failure at the fuel rail.
You could also have an electrical problem or pcm going bad.
The IAC contols the the air for the idle.common problem with these engines.

What is the best way to get to the fuel pump inside the tank?
Should I drop the tank or remove the bed? I'll be doing it in my driveway.
Thanks

I would drop the tank. What I do is to hook up a fuel pump to the fuel line where it comes out of the tank, and pump it all out... then the tank is very light.
Or, you can pump it out through the filler neck, but that takes some finesse.
I would let it happen again, and then try banging on the gas tank with a 2x4 or something (without cracking the plastic tank) and see if it starts right up. If it does, change the fuel pump.
So, in this order: Wait until it happens again. When it does, bang on the tank. If it starts, it's the fuel pump. If banging on the tank doesn't do anything, check the pressure at the fuel rail - if you have no pressure, it's the inertia switch, relay, fuse, wiring.
If you do have pressure you have something else. Maybe the crank sensor.
I have the same thing happening on mine, so far my local dealer has reprogrammed the computer, replaced the fuel pump last week, yesterday it wouldn't start again, so it's back at the dealers again today. Mine also dies when I'm cruising down the interstate.
