I need some help. The 30amp fuse in the power distrubition box keeps blowing. The glow plug relay has been replaced and the cam sensor will be replaced soon. Would like to fix the fuse problem before changing cam sensor.
my guess is its #8 for the idm if your truck is dying. umm this is a new one for me. i'll have to think about this. maybe you have some burnt wiring for injectors. its the only thing that comes to mind right now.
I haven't had time to ge back to it. So tomorrow morning I will look at the fuel heater wire. The fuse is # 22. Ah, the forgotten info: the truck is a 97' F250 with 160,000 miles. It ran great until Tuesday morning. Thanks to all for the help. Will give an update in a few days.
Replaced cam sensor, fuse and pulled fuel heater wire from inside filter housing. It starts up fine but, it stalls. Hope I got correct cps. Needed more help.
rmason73, in the articles/spec section at the top of this web page is a "how to" article on replacing the CPS. It also has the Ford and International part number by engine serial number break, if you're concerned about getting the right CPS. '97 was the year of the change and thus the serial number break in part numbers. If you bought the CPS from Autozone, I have read of someone haveing a bad one out of the box from Autozone. This is assuming the #22 fuse does not blow again.
