Post Hot off the dyno!

Finaly got my engine to the dyno, and I'm happy. It's a 78 400 with 326 hp and 433 ft/lb torque. I will give the details later I got to get this thing in the truck.

Wahooooooo!

Outstanding. When you get back to us, I'd be curious to hear where the horsepower and torque peaked, what the torque curve looked like, and what cam you used. Oh, and your driving impressions.

Here's the specs and dyno curve:
- '79 400 - rebuilt, honed, balanced rotating assembly, etc.
- Badger .030 flat-top pistons - decked block and milled heads for about 9.2:1 comp ratio
- CompCam XE256 cam
- Edelbrock Performer 400 Intake
- Holley 650cfm carb on a 1 inch spacer
- Taylor wires
- Recurved dizzy

Here are numbers from the best dyno pull (with headers):

That's an outstanding torque curve, perfect for a street driven vehicle. Nice job.

When you guys with dyno numbers get a chance hop on over to the performance forum and answer a question on dyno cost for a user there. Thanks!

Man, anytime you've got over 400 lbs/ft at 2500 RPM you're talking about a stout motor. And it just stays up there right through the RPM range. Nice!
