I am have a clunk that feels as if it comes from under the floorboard on the driver side. I am guess it is probably a swar bar bushing problem, although I haven't had time to pull sway bar off to check. It happens in drive or reverse when you are just letting the engine idle and move you forward just crawling. There is no pattern to the clunk to speak of. It appears to go away at higher speeds, but may just be covered by road noise. Energy suspension has a full hyper flex kit for the truck that has front and rear sway bar, front and rear leaf spring, and front track rod bushings. Does anyone see the point to replacing all these parts or should I just order the front sway bar set? All of this is for a '00 f-250 7.3L crewcab with 120K on it. Any opinions??
Just had another thought reading through old postings......could this be the infamous driveline clunk?? If so, can it wait for another 25K to get fixed??
I've had the same issue a few times on my '01. You can replace the sway bar to axle bushings with poly ones but the end links are a Ford item. I replaced my end links 2 times in 42,000 mi. You could also have a body mount bushing, front wheel hub/bearing, ball joint, or front axle u-joint issue also. If it drives fine and is just popping once its probably the sway bar to axle bushing. If it thumps constantly on a bumpy road probably sway bar link.
Essentially it thuds a few times, maybe 3-5 times, as you crawl forward then it seems to disappear or gets buried by road noise. Energy suspension has the full set of urethane.
If they have full urethane sets, you might have to buy new sway bar end links. On my '01 I couldn't press the bushing assy out of the link without destroying it. Maybe someone will chime in and correct me on this, but the bushings on mine were a none serviceable item. I couldn't just buy the bushings. I know I've seen bushings advertised, but they didn't work on my application.
be careful on which set you order i just ordered a set frrom energy suspension and durin g the install the drop link bushings didnt fit. so as i type, i am on the phone with them trying to get the right parts. they are aware of the situation but i am on hold so i cant explain anymore. so justbe aware of this issue. i will tell you more when i know more.
Thats not good news! They are shipping mine today 2nd day air....hopefully it gets figured out!! Please let me know ASAP so I don't tear into anything that can't be fixed.
ok i just got off the phone and the deal is the truck they test fitted had some mods that they didnt catch. so they are sending me the rear sway bar bushing kit. it is supposed to fit the front drop links. call em on the phone and ask for the tech department and they will fix you up. i have the number and i can send it in a pm if you want it.

he just called me again and they told me that he could not overnight to me on his dime. so he is going to send it ground. i will have em next week. i also told him about your situation and he is aware and is awaiting your call right now.
I have a '00 f-250. I just double checked and that is the part number they sent me. Good thing to since it already went out. Are you having the clunk like I described when you are in drive or reverse just kinda crawling along under idle?
