Icp sensor question

1995 PSD, International model engine

1. I am changing out the icp sensor... the new one I get from the ford store
looks NOTHING like the sensor that is in there now. The one in there now
has a metal, mushroom shaped housing below the connector and above
the
bolt that screws into the engine.

2. I am presuming that the icp sensor has changed its look over the past
11 years. Is this correct???? Can you squeeze a wrench under the above
described housing to take out the sensor....or is there a more appropriate
technique????

3 Please advise... I am fairly certain I am at the right sensor based on
several diagrams i have check out

4. Thanks for alll advise to a first time PSD owner trying to make this great
machine reach its fullest potential

Here is all I can help you with - was it one of these part numbers?

(Ford) F4TZ-9F838-A (94/95)
(Ford) F6TZ-9F838-A (96-up; marked Julian date 6318 or higher)

Here is the Intenational part number:

i just replaced mine two weeks ago.

to remove the old one grab onto it with some channel locks and loosen it up. then put the new one in i think it requires a 1 1/16 socket.
