Anyone know where I can order this plug replacement online, ford part: 6E7Z-9C082-A? Or over the phone to have it shipped? My only local parts department has no clue.

Call the Internet Sales 800 number and ask for Johnny. He's a nice guy and knows Ford parts.

Ordered mine from dealer last Fri. The dealer had to order it, naturally, but I think they will stock it from now on. Should be here anytime. As cold as it is I'm not in any hurry to make the install.

...it will stop on its own...it's designed that way so you don't overtighten it and crush the O-Ring. Just screw it in until it bottoms out.

Oemparts.com does not have the part in stock. In fact, the national parts house doesn't either. It would be a back order, and are only on the assembly line at this point, according to them.

Where R people getting them then?

Installed 'up grade' drain valve yesterday. The box it came in was from International. The 'binder' part number is 2589259C91. It cost $15.72 plus tax. If you have a 4 X 4 the drive shaft makes it a tight fit to install. Not fun with cold diesel running down your arm. As was suggested some where it would be easier to install the plug if the front were jacked up to drop the left front wheel some. The new plug makes it easy to drain water at each oil change and you don't have to worry about dropping it.

I would go so far as to say that this is a must install.

I wonder what Ford would charge to install?

Since my local dealers were no help, and I was wasting fuel driving around looking for somebody who could order......i found on here:

www.powerstroke.com

Scroll to bottom of page. Only $11.23, but $9.50 shipping! Maybe you could get some filters and make the shipping worthwhile. At least I finally have one coming.

Sorry, bad link, it should be www.powerstrokeshop.com kind of a confusing website. i think if you do a search for "plug" it will bring up the correct part.
