cab change?

I have a 79' f150 300I6 4spd 4x4 and the body is really rough on it and i just bought a 79' f250 2wd automatic with a great body and i would like to take the cab off of it and put it on my f150 but i was wondering what i would have to do to hang the clutch pedal in it b/c its an automatic cab and my truck is manual. is it possible to bolt my cluctch pedal assembly on it? any info is appreciated b/c i wan't to know what i'm getting into before i start tearing down.

The clutch pedal assembly will bolt into the auto cab. The trans tunnel is shorter in the auto than the manual, so you may need to change that... Other wise it's a bolt in.

take the plate out of the f150 and use it as a pattern for the tunnel on the auto cab. cut it out and bolt it in like it is in the f150. shouldn't take much more than a weekend to get it done and over with.

Don't miss the opportunity to clean and paint your frame while the body is off. It's also a good time to clean the engine and tranny.

ooooooo yea, its much easier to do that stuff while the cabs off. you can get to everything. one of the mistakes i made because i was in a hurry to get done, but i really wish i would have.

Everything will interchange. I recommend, going from experience, to take apart and clean u the donar cab as much as you want, then take the parts off the old cab and put them on the new one. Youwill need things like the tunnel cover, peddle assemblies, master cylinder, brake power booster and bracket, and steering column and wiring from the old cab to make it a fairly painless swap. As far as the cab mounts go, in the front of the cab, where you find the bolts, you will see a tear drop shaped cover held on with a tab, and one bolt. Remove the cover and you will find the other end of the bolt. While you are in there, make sure you clean it out very well on the good cab. There are drain holes/slots built into it.

"On" the front of the cab, on the outside of the firewall, between the front fenders and front of the cab. The front two bolts are NOT accessible from the interior of the cab. Like Pre'80 says, clean out the drain holes when you get to them. It is easy, when you go underneath the truck on your back, you can see where the front two cab mount bushings are, the teardrop shaped access panel will be facing the front of the truck.
