I have a 94 f-350 4x4. in the next year or so i plan to do quite a bit of suspension and engine work. i can find very little on the post 87 460s, mainly in the heads, im assuming since 88 was the first year for the EFI that the difference is only in the heads, or is it the block as well? im not sure and was wondering if anyone could help me.
Another thing ive been thinking, i want EFI. where can i get a fuel injection system that will work with either style of heads that is capable of + or - 500 horsepower and around 500 CID. ive not been able to find a place searching google somewhat breifly and thought i would see if anyone could help me.
well, not sure how much help i will be, but i believe you have fuel injection already in your 94. They started efi for 460's in 89 i believe.
I am new to the board as well, but after doing a search i was able to find tons of posts concerning efi 460's and hot rodding them. Although you may not find all the answers your looking for here, this is definetly a good place to start.
Lots of people have been talking about doing cam swaps and the pros and cons with that, if you want to talk about a stroker, well someone besides myself will have to fill you in on that.
look for my post about the K&N airfilter and cutting out the air horn silencers

If you're talking about aftermarket EFI, your only real option (since you obviously don't have a small or big block chevy) is aftermarket throttle body injection (which you use a carb intake with). I believe Holley or somebody now makes a 1000 CFM TBI setup, which might support 500 hp, but I don't know. Problem with these aftermarket setups is that they run around $2000 and up.
Several aftermarket FI companies will do multiport setups on just about any engine. You use a 4BBL throttle body on a carb manifold that has been machined for injectors. If your electronics capabilities are up to it, a company called MegaSquirt makes a build it yourself ECU kit for much less $$$ than the others. I'm planning (hopefully) on installing one on my thunderbird this winter. I've heard good things, but I don't have any first hand knowledge with it yet.
