1975 F100 Explorer
What do you think you have?
Being an Explorer, that is a step up from a Custom.
I'd say you have something ,that others would want to have.

A 1975 F100 Explorer is a nice find but, not exactly rare. It would have the XLT trim on it and possibly a sliding door rear window. Power steering, Power Brakes, and air conditioning. These things make the Ford truck livable.
What condition is the vehicle in? Paint(2 tone?), Body(rust?), Interior. How close to stock is it? Do you have the factory hubcaps or has some hotrodder chopped it to Hell?
The 360 is really a destroked 390. The 390 is the preferred motor but, the 360 is nothing to turn your nose up at. If the motor doesn't leak or burn oil then technically, you've got a gem.
Enjoy your new truck,

Since it was free - so many uses. Daily driver, beater, farm truck, sell, etc!
I turned two into of my old Ford trucks that aren't worth a dime into farm trucks. I abuse and abuse them, and they still won't go!
For years I thought I was the only 1975 Explorer owner on the FTE site. It's nice to see that I'm not alone now!!
One Gentleman mentioned that it is a step above a Custom model. This is True!! Another mentioned it had the XLT Trim and hosted an aray of power options. Not 100% true. The Explorer package had a trim base all to it's own. Door panels and sunvisors were just like the custom models only in special colors. There was no Chrome or Pads on the panels, no woodgrain on the Dash and no bodyside or tailgate mouldings were added. Outside colors were usually Mexicali Red, Coronado Gold or Hot Ginger Metallic, although four other choices were available. Interior Colors were limited to Coral Red, Gold & Tan Kirsten colors. They all included color keyedd floor mats, panels & arm rests.
Outside they all included Bumper Guards with rub strips, Box rails, GT Style Tape stripes above the body indention and across the Hood, windshield mouldings, drip mldgs, Swing lock mirros, Mag wheel covers, Explorer Hood Ornament & Nameplates. Power options included power steering, Automatic and Air Conditioning, depending on the number of packages it included. All engines were avilable.
Mine is painted in the Meicali Red and includes White stripes. My Father purchased it new in 1975 and I bought it three years later from him in `78. I've owned it since. It is currently under a slow restoration process. Mine had nothing but the Explorer package "A" as an option! I have a 300 6cyl w/ 200k miles, 3 on the tree, MANUAL Steering, and Power brakes. That's It! Mine came new with NO Radio and NO back bumper.
I still have another year or so to go on mine, but I've located everything but the original style Floor mat and a new Drivers door panel. I was VERY Lucky in finding the original material for the seat!! Now I have to take it to a seat shop to rebuild and sew it all up! It was a sharp looking truck at it's time!!
