code po113

I have a early 99 psd. I scanned the codes tonight just for the hell of it and came up with code P0113. I did a forum search and came up with Air Intake Temp sensor??? The crappy old air filter has been replaced in this truck with a open air type filter. This filter is just setting in the old filter box with the box lid removed. What does this sensor do, and what if any performance am I missing with this code being on. The truck seems to run fine ( as good as any truck with 190000 miles does )

Any and all help is much appreciated......

By the way, when I try to clear the code, It does not seem to go away. I am using a tuner to read the code. It asks me if I want to clear the code, I say yes...It says it is clearing the code, but when I re-scan it it is still there. I have not started the truck again.....Am I missing something?

Still have the old sensor? Plug it back in and zip tie it to a brake line.

I may have it, but not sure... Where would it need to be mounted, and do you have any idea what it does?

It's probably still in your old air box. It comes out with a quarter-turn. Plug it back in and the code can be cleared. Zip-tie it to anything so it doesn't flop around and get broken. It doesn't matter where you put it. Just secure it.

It measures inlet air temperature to your turbo.
