5.4 Bogging

03 E350 5.4 under hard acceleration or punched out the engine bogs down and won't shift. As soon as you let up off the pedal a little the engine will accelerate and shift. In normal driving and light acceleration everything is fine. There was no check engine light.

I would first replace the fuel filter and clean the MAF and see how it does. It sounds like a lack of fuel.

I still have the same problem, but apparently it only happens when it is wet out.
What component might be affected by moisture to cause this?

As lxman has said it,it still sounds like fuel.I would look at fuel pressure at Idle and part throttle.
Change fuel filter.
It could be fuel regulator or pump in the tank.
If its not missing or bucking I rule out ignition
Also no chk engine light means no codes or sensor problems.

Did this problem just start happening?
or over time.
You could have a clogged cat.

I only recently noticed it when I had to punch it out (in the rain). It only happens when it is raining out. Now every time it rains, I mash the throttle to see what happens.
