I got $22.3K for it. It has the 6/100 bump to bump ford warranty, 32000 miles, 4" superlift, brand new 35s and brand new gears (4.3 F/R). Holy cow batman, that hurt.
I'm certain that the family plan, hurricanes, cost of fuel and the reputation of a V10 being a gas-guzzler was the cause for the difficulty in selling. I was convinced that it would go very quick with near mint condition and the "free" goodies it had.

I don't want to offend anyone but when you lift your truck and install big tires you lower your chances of selling it. There is a lot a trucks owners on this site with lifted trucks but thats a small percentage of the total number of trucks on the road. So when you mod them you are catering to a small percentage of the truck buyers.
Personally if I was looking for a truck I would look a lifted truck because I like nice looking trucks but I wouldn't buy it.
There is a used car dealer near me that has had a Extended cab 250 with about 8+ inches of lift on 37" Xterrain tires that said he could have sold it over and over it had had been diesel. But with it being the V-10 he has had it for over 6 months. I tried give a good deal. I told him that I would swap out all of the suspension between his truck and my stock unit for free. Needless to say he laughed.
I think it is difficult to sell any late model pickup for a good price now that there are so many good deals out there on new ones.
I don't know how fast used diesel SDs sell in the US but here in BC , most of the local dealers ( sadly, Honda and Toyota too ) have 03 and 04 6.0 SDs sitting for sale.
Go back 5 years and this was unheard of. V10s are so rare you never see them here but I am sure they would be difficult to sell also.

I totally agree with you. In fact, I already had it in the works to remove the mods (except the gears) and replace the lift with the stock susupension. I woulda done it had the truck not sold again.
All,
I'm not if sure I am reading things properly today. As I understand, some of you had difficult time selling your V10 with lift kit and bigger tires. Are you kidding me! I have been looking for V10 (crew cab long bed truck, SRW) with lift kit for some time now. If I can exaggerate a till bit, I can say, I have covered entire East coast! Starting from NH to NY to NJ to PA to MD to DC to VA and nothing is left untouched. Please get in touch with me if you have any V10 with lift kit in your garage.
Thanks,
VJ
