Well, my near-mint, low mileage, 02 V10 has finally found a new home. It only took 4½ months and I REALLY took it in the shorts too (nearly a loss of $18K).
Bought my 05 PSD in mid-May and opted to sell the V10 private party to get the most money I could. Started the process the first of June and it just sold a couple of days ago. Every caller, but one, asked if the truck was a diesel; despite a very specific description. There are some very stupid, er, uninformed buyers out there. A Ford V10 PSD? C'mon now.
Anyway, curses on the family plans, hurricanes, greenies and profit taking cronies.

Well, there've been numerous references in the forums that the V-10's don't resell as readily as the deisels, and your experience certainly bears this out. However, as a very satisfied V10 owner I'm going to hope that the fuel crisis of the last few months was a contributing factor!
When I shopping to replace my 2000 PSD,the salesman at dealer wanted to sell me a V10 PSD. I told him that Ford does not make one and he kept saying they did. I did not buy from him.
Holy Crap! Now I know why my old V-10 always smoked blue, always pulled up to diesel pump!
And to think last on vacation, when i ran out of fuel,I hitched-hiked and walked 35 miles bypassing at least 6 gas stations to find my diesel fuel, plus the 35 mile walk back toting the 5 gallons of blue smoke emitting liguid gold! Nobody would pick me up with fuel can in sight.
Guess I know now why my dirt lane was never dusty!!! Golly I miss my diesel V-10!
$0.60 Difference! Talk about taking it in the shorts. I NEVER used to cross the street to buy fuel--do now.
Our illustrious Va. politicians think we should be drilling off Va.'s coast. If things are that bad, we should be walking or riding bicycles.
I finally reach the point where I can afford $30k plus vehicles large enough to protect us from all the psycho speeders and red light runners and fuel prices double overnight (almost literally).
The good news is, America is still the best place to live. Thank the gods I wasn't born in El Salvador or Nigeria.
I dunno.. Nigeria wouldn't be so bad... seems like everyone in that country has US$30MILLION DOLLARS that they want to split with me if I can offer them use of my bank account.
Congrats on sellin your truck, I too am curious what you finally got for it?
I have no comments on gas prices, I really try not to think about it.
If you don't mind, what did you get for the truck. I just bought a 02 V-10 with 22,000 miles for 18,900
Like MW i just sold my 01 V10 Screw. It had 150,000 miles and because of the fuel prices, Family plans etc I let it go for $9800. When I bought the truck used in 01 I got it for $21,900 it had 18K on the odometer. I had it listed for almost 3 months.
I can tell you the 5.4 does not compare to the V10 at all. I need to do some HP mods to be happy. Other than that I really like my new 50 s/crew
