a few questions

I was told wix and motorcraft are the same filter just different names is it true?
I have a 01 250 super duty crew cab about where would the fuel filter be located?
Does any one know the size of the bolt that attaches the transmission to the motor looked under the truck today and saw one missing?

Question one I don't know but they are both good, use which ever you perfer.

Question two is underneith the driver door next to the frame rail; side note is you'll need the disconect tool to take it off, pick one up at any parts store for like $5

Question three - I have no Idea, Good luck on that one.

Have fun but don't forget about the air filter, cleaning the MAF sensor (do a search), a cabin filter if you have one, and a throttle body cleaning probably wouldn't hurt and lastly the IAC valve may also need a good cleaning (also do a search, lots of info on it). I almost forgot you should have 4 or 5 grease zerks on the front end also.

Take a close look at what you think is a missing botl hole... I think my 4R100 had one vacant hole that was not threaded just an inspection look through hole.

fredvon4,

you were right went to the ford dealer today. The hole I saw had the bolt comming from the other direction. thats why I didn't see any head on the same side as the rest and it looked like one was missing.
